Join the Michigan Driving Schools Team

Become a certified driving instructor and help teens become safe, confident drivers. If you enjoy working independently, want a flexible schedule, and thrive in a positive, student‑focused environment, this may be the perfect fit.

What the Role Involves

We offer part‑time and full‑time opportunities teaching classroom sessions and behind‑the‑wheel lessons. Teaching experience is helpful, but we are happy to train the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strong knowledge of Michigan traffic laws and driving regulations
  • Understanding how anxiety affects learning and performance
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build trust with nervous students
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a calm, supportive learning environment
  • Flexibility to adapt instruction to each student’s needs
  • Familiarity with basic anxiety‑management strategies
  • Accurate documentation of student progress

All behind‑the‑wheel lessons are conducted in our school vehicles. Instructors must be available at least twice per week, including one weekend day per month. Most sessions occur after 2:00 PM on weekdays and throughout weekends.

Safety & Professional Standards

We prioritize the safety of our students and staff. All instructors must complete a background check and drug screening.

Certification & Training

This position requires Michigan Driver Education Certification. We can provide information on upcoming state‑approved training programs.
